Reseating bullets

I agree, somethin else is goin on.

I learned not to waste my components by doing a ladder and work up and then doing a new batch with bullets seated closer to the lands. I found pressure would always increase slightly at the top end and I might possibly hafta seat the bullet a tad deeper or less powder to relieve pressure for that new spec.

So now i always start at magazine length or chamber length +.005 and seat deeper if need to for accuracy. I may have to ADD a touch more powder to equal same speed at say .070 deeper.

Seating a bullet deeper creates higher preasure within the case (just the case) but since the bullet now has more clearance and free movement before contacting the lands the overall pressure of the load is reduced. The weatherby freebore came about because of this principle.
