Nosler PREMIUM brass

I love it when people start talking about weighing cases, as if it has some magical effect on case volume.
Then like clockwork one of the Lapu-tisms will step in and start claiming things they can't pronounce.šŸ¤¦

To the OP:
Nosler has never been able to make their own brass, until they purchased Silver State. The entire case industry is extremely incestuous, and whenever someone stops feeding the handloading sector because of a government contract. They pay everyone else to build their products for them. That's why the "scandal" of Hornady's discontinued list, only scandalized the Crayon-eating true believers; the rest of us are adults and know how the sausage gets made.

If the primer punch holes bother you, then get rid of them. But the fact of the matter is, it's not remotely as important as you think it is.

Most of these will be one time use. I had just never seen any brass that bad before.

Nosler brass is expensive and soft. ADG brass has been cheaper than Nosler for my. I've never seen issues like this with Nosler brass. I'm not sure how they are now but I'd be willing to believe that they would replace it if bought from a retailer. All of the Nosler brass that I have has always come perfect and ready to load. This is brass for my 325 WSM. I know I've compared the prices for my 28 Nosler as well, ADG is ~$125 for 50 and Nosler is $100 for 25 pieces. I'd rather lose ADG than lose Nosler brass.

If available in the caliber I need, I always go to Lapua ADG or Peterson, not necessarily in that order. I do purchase more Lapua brass than the others simply out of experience. I have some Nosler in 338 Lapua, and I got at the range I frequent. It's decent but does not hold up as well as the abovementioned ones.

I worked up a load 2 years before it stopped being g made by Norma. I am ready for a new batch now and am switching to ADG.

Nosler 300wm brass is $50 more than the caliners close to it. Why???
Everything Nosler is expensive and overpriced. Look how much a box of bullets is. Example; 7mm 175gr ABLR $113, 175gr ELD-X ~$40, 180gr Berger $64. Brass is worse, $115 for a box of 25 28 Nosler, ADG, Peterson, around $125-$150 for a box of 50. A box of Accubonds is north of $50 most cases, and those are 50 bullet boxes. This is why I stopped buying anything Nosler. The ABLRs used to be $50/box of 100, that was reasonable, and on par with other brands. I won't buy any of their stuff anymore. It makes me happy that I shoot Berger and Hornady bullets using ADG brass from my 28 Nosler.

Just curious. What's the word on Hornady and Starline rifle brass?
Hornady I hear is soft. I know the factory stuff that I've reloaded loses primer pockets quickly. I've had decent luck with starline but that's mostly been in pistol cartridges. I do use starline for my 6.5 Creedmoor and Grendel and haven't had any reason to complain.
