6.5 PRC Load Data

If your looking for speed for whitetail
Maybe the 130 Hybrid OTM Tactical.
I haven't tried them on whitetail yet but they are easy to tune.
Hope this helps.
Thanks, I shouldn't be stealing the OPs thread. My apologies to him. I do have a lot of the 130 AR Hybrid that I use in a AR10 chambered in 6.5 CM. All I've ever shot in my PRC are the 153.5s & 156s. Thanks for the good suggestion. I'll give it a try.

Shooting 147 eldms using 57 grains of N565 around 2800 in 20 inch barrel with suppressor. Under an MOA at 200 and 300 yards. Ran it out to 750 and was smashing rocks. Will see how does on wife's antelope this year.

I have a 6.5 PRC that I will be setting up for developing a load, I am curious to hear what powder's other members have found to be the most accurate in this cartridge? I plan on using 140gr Elite Hunter for bullets, and I have H1000, H4831SC, H4831, Retumbo, N570. Also have RL26 but wanted to keep it with powder that is not temp sensitive. I am not opposed to purchasing other powder's if they are available, if it is a great combination like the 6.5 Creed with H4350 is to that cartridge. Thanks in advance.
I'm using 140 berger hybrid target bullets , 57.3 gr H-1000 with a muzzle velocity of 3125 ,3 shot groups under .5 moa

Well, I was able to get out and do a quick load run from 54 to 58 with H1000 and 140 Elite Hunters and only shows one worth a flip to check. I am going to load up some more at half a grain below and above 56 to see if anything shows some promise. If not, I have some 4831sc I could try, but H1K should work good in this cartridge.

The interesting thing about these tests is that if you repeated the exact same test, you may get different results. A single group at any charge level is really insignificant.

That is just my finding.

Yep, and trying to see if 56.0 is going to repeat a long with verifying what 55.5 and 56.5 will do.

For all of you that are loading the Berger 156's in your 6.5 PRC's, are you finding those bullets very sensitive to seating depth? I've been spoiled by Matchkings that seem to almost completely ignore seating depth for many years but the Berger 156's have really captured my attention and I'd love to try some but am worried I'll get frustrated and give up after chasing accurate loads for months.

I have found the 156 to not be sensitive, but I did settle on .040 off touch. I ran five shot groups at 200 yds from .010-.040 in .005 increments. I verified the .040 load four times and it maintained is group size and between 9-15 ES. It was between .3 and .5 MOA during the development. The worst of the others was .73 MOA.

H1000, Fed 215, Lapua brass, 2930 FPS, 24" BBL

Are you running your 6.5 PRC in a Long Action? If so, are you using an M5 Oberndorf or DBM?
