Hi,

I'm in the market for a 338 for an elk hunt next year, I'm most interested in a 338 NMI or some form of the Lapua AI whether that's a Reaper, Terminator or??? Prefer a BDL, must feed from the magazine and be from a well known smith. Please let me know what you have

Thanks for the interest so far but I'm really only interested in 338's from reputable smiths. I already have a PRC and want to step up to a 338 :)

The 300 NMI,is nothing to sneeze at.And I own two 338 NM,FRIEND JUST BUILT a light 300NM,dont recall if its Imp,but as stated they really move a 245.I like 250 out of my 338 also.LPR IS TOP TIER

I have several of these..... 338 Slowpoke.... It is an improved version we tried to make into a BR round. In the end bag manners were not good with the recoil. Is a great hunting round. Speedy built me several. I get 3089 fps with a 250 SMK.

We build .338LMAILS Custom in 33"-35" 1.35" barrels. LR TARGET AND STEEL.
If you are looking for a hunting rig and not TOOO Heavy go with a .338NM. No need for an Improved. Just a .338NM is more than what you need and it has a shorter Cartridge to fit a Mag in a Bolt Rifle. Do what you want, but you will save a lot of money and time reloading with just a NM.

I appreciate all the input from everyone so far. I'm really looking to get into a rifle sooner than later as opposed to having one built, especially with the way components are. I think the main hold up on most of the bigger builders out there right now is trying to source a stock from manners.
