I saw this one! Im not saying its a "knockoff" bipod, but its a knockoff of the ckyepod is what it appears to be at a cheaper price.

Most of the top predators hunters I know and work with run a tripod. I run a fiesol 3342 and ball head with RRS quick disconnect. The tri is about 3 lbs. I've killed a pile of predators off the tripod (wolves, mtn lions, yotes). I do run an arca clamp set up but ran a picatinny in the past.

You've never seen a Ckypod then. that thing couldn't be more different than a Ckyepod.

Ckye pod's are awesome but they are spendy for sure. By far the most versatile bipod especially when you get into the double and triple pull.

I'd like to get my hands on one of those Hatch bipods, see what they are like.
 
Swagger Bipods

I've been using the Swagger Bipods for awhile and they have worked out really well. I sit on a 3 legged folding stool/camp chair with a back support.

I'm also using a 2 section carbon fiber tripod. The tripod gives much more support, but the Swagger is easier to move right to left when needed.

Both are setup for arca rails so I don't have to worry about forgetting extra parts to mate the two if needed.

I saw a video where the hunter took a small lightweight tripod and removed one leg making it into a bipod. One of my aluminum tripods is very similar to the one he was using. I took a leg off of mine to give it a try. It worked very good. Looks a little strange, but it was very stable and I would use it if needed. It stays in the truck as an emergency backup.
 
I am tripod guy too, and I used to walk a mile to my stands at a bit of elevation carrying a rifle, shotgun, tripod, and ecaller. I get the desire to carry less, as my gear has gotten more streamlined over the years. I was toying with an even lighter weight set up and came across the Springbok from Spartan Precision. Sort of a bipod meets shooting sticks. They make Picatinny adapters for them as well.

I used Snipe pods for years. Extremely light weight. They fold up like little tents poles and fit in a belt pouch. I became a little turned off by them when they redesigned them with different adapters a few years ago. It wasn't because of the design, but because they quit making the adapter for the old model. I have adapters on several rifles and shotguns, and to use the newer design, I would have to replace everything!
