This morning, on the way home from hunting quail, I came across our local bighorn herd near the highway so I pulled over and took a few photos:

Well, this morning no quail were harmed and the shotgun barrels remain far too clean... That's okay, it was a nice hike with my dog on a crisp morning. He's hunting better this year than ever. The quail may be onto us though. Dog found a few but I couldn't get a shot because of intervening brush or trees.

One fine ram!
I think I have 14+ points here in Colorado for bighorn, but at 77 I'm not sure I can get to the altitude they are. Lost 12 points years ago by missing one year applying. Likely bighorn and mountain goat (also have 14 points) are out of my reach now.
Still I can dream about taking one!
