Nope. We were under the gun - we were trying to beat the storm/dark cuz he had to work the next day. Big part of the reason it was such a heavy pack out.
Take aways from this hunt:
1) Never forget trekking poles
2) Always be capable of and willing to spend the night (For the record, I was lol)
3) Never hunt deer with Atips again
(Lost an entire rear quarter)

Last thing I forgot to mention is that my buck had brilliant blue eyes!
I'd be super curious to learn if anyone else has ever seen or hear of anything like this...
They're still blue in the photos below from when I was cleaning the skull but not even close to as brilliant as when I walked up on him after the kill.

I'm really hoping these crazy genetics made it into some of the other bucks in the area I hunt. I'd definitely make an exception for a shoulder mount if I knocked down a 185+ buck with blue eyes!
