Berger Hybrid Target Bullets

No doubt they work, last animal I shot with a 7mm, 180 HT, this is the exit at 400 yards.

I brag on bergers all the time about how little meat I've lost and how immediately dead they have been. My 7mm blaser i tested at 500yd with 175 eol, 180 hyb, 184 hyb, and 195 eol. They all shot great easily. I've only hunted with the 195 at 2850-2890fps. 1st bull at 600yd, second at 100 and through the front leg, several whitetail and mule deer bucks 300-500yd, antelope buck at 150 yd and another at 520. Usually shoot for heart. I don't think I've lost 20lbs combined. 6cm shoots 105 hyb at 3200ish. Doe Antelope and a couple deer. Same results. Only first mule buck with cm was not dead immediately. I made a poor shot (s) that day.

I think alot has to do with shot placement really. I'm a much better marksman today then that 1st year with a custom rifle.

Alot of people have more experience than I do with them. I shot a whitetail buck square in the chest at approximately 15 yards away with a 180 hybrid last year. They're going 2840fps MV out of my 7ss.

Here's the bullet I recovered, I found it up near the spine. The jacket and core were together.

My experience this year with 200 gr Berger Hybrid Target.

I usually just read and learn but I actually have something to add to this. I bought a LR1000 in 7LRM in late 2014. I shoot Gunwerks' ammo which 180 grain Berger Target Hybrids. Since then I have shot 3 cow elk, 5 Bulls, 1 Shira moose and 1 Desert Sheep. I was really hesitant at first about these bullets. I come from the controlled expansion world of african hunting so this was a tough sell. Turns out I was wrong. These bullets are killers. Absolutely nothing wrong with them.

890 yards mule deer, weiserbucks/James Eagleman method. In line with front leg, 1/2 to 1/3 down from hairline. The farther the shot (700+) the closer to 1/3 down from top of back due to bullet arc, 500 yards and under 1/2 way down/up. If you hit heavy bone the fragments do the job themselves. 180 hybrid or 195 eol.

A little late to the convo but here is my $0.02. 7mm prc Bergara b14 carbon 22'' barrel, 180 hybrid target 2869 MV. Absolutely killing machines. 3 deer DRT @ 400yds +, one elk @ 300yds DRT. All shots placed behind the shoulder, and zero need for high shoulder shots with this monsters.
