I sent a personal message to a seller and received a text from.this ph.number .

812-674-0293
Saying they will take the deal ....we didnt even have any deal going ..
This is getting crazy , this AI crap will take over someday ..

I believe they have . That's the only way I sent a message to the seller .

From what I understand, they likely do not have access to your PM's- did you post on the ad that you had sent a PM to the seller?

Typically, they see "PM sent", and have harvested your phone number from a previous post. So when they see "PM sent" they send you a text (from a previous post where you had posted it publicly) in the hopes that you had made the seller an offer or committal to buy.

I have made the error of posting my number publicly on here in the past... Unfortunately it's probably basically irreversible at this point without a lot of searching and having the admin waste their personal time on my error.

I think the safest way is to ONLY communicate via PM on here, OR:

Otherwise, do a quick video chat with the seller and see and discuss the item in question.

Im not sure how they are doing it, but I agree - don't post "PM sent" or indicate your interest publicly. Just send the pm, and stay vigilant even then with phone call and custom pics etc.

I see where you did post "PM Sent", that was the trigger.

Don't post in the thread. Just send the PM.

Also, you now have a number. You should text back for an email and then start signing them up for all sorts of notifications.

Those suckers are everywhere. *** scammers...

I would be sending a picture of my cats ******* (amongst other things) but that is just me.

It's funny..i.looked up the ph# and it dont exist ...now that's crazy .
Is the Phone Company involved in the Scaming ?
