I have a question for Howa owners. im looking to put a howa barreled action into a VG ultra carbon. the only options are proof Sendero and sporter. i called stockys and they said that the proof profile is 1 in at the end of the forearm. does anyone have a howa heavy steel barreled action from brownells that has them in the stockys ultra carbon hunter VG proof contour stock and how much float does it have. if anyone has pictures on the gap that would be great. brownells says they have a heavy #6 contour, but cant find any consistent drawings on what that is. i know there has been some long threads on these stocks as well was the barreled actions so i have to assume someone has ran this combo. stockys says there is plenty of room to open up a sporter and would do that if the gap is unsightly large between the barrel and stock. any help is appreciated.

So it turns out my carbon hunter has asporter contour in it. My carbon fiber barrel is in a different rifle (1st world problems amirite?). However I am starting a build today with a Howa heavy barrel 300 prc so I dropped it in the carbon hunter so you can get an idea. You are gonna have to open it up a bit. Hope this helps. I measured the barrel at 1.081 where it starts making contact and .959 at the end of the stock. Hope this helps!

Thank you very much for taking the time to post those up. That actually works out perfect because i am running the heavy steel barrel as well and with that ordered a sporter contour. Doesn't look to be to back to open up. Thanks again.
