Ruger rpr magnum caliber change

I have a Ruger rpr magnum in 338 lapua.
I have the chance to get a 300 prc takeoff barrel that was never fired.
Can I use the same bolt and magazine.
I know that the bolt face is a little smaller but I am hoping that it is close enough to work or just a extractor swap.
If I need a different bolt, how do I get one.
I emailed ruger and the said that they do not make bolts for a different caliber than the rifle was made for and you have to send it in.
 
Won't work properly, you need the proper bolt face for the cartridge. As stated, 300 nm or 30-338 lapua if you want a 30 caliber. Otherwise, start looking to see if someone wants to sell just the magnum bolt face bolt out of their RPR, or try to get a buddy that works for Ruger.
 
did you ever do the barrel change on the rpr .. I am looking for an RPR BARREL IN 338 LAPUA.... Thanks

Replying to the correct thread now.

I am interested in converting my ruger rpr 300WM to 338 lapua so I have the bolt you need, and you have the bolt and barrel I need. Would you be interested in a trade? Please reply I will try and DM and see if you are still interested.

I was wanting to do a switch barrel of sorts.
I picked up an unfired 300 prc barrel. So the only thing that I needed was a bolt.
I wish you would have posted a few weeks ago.
A friend of mine is going to have shoulder surgery and sold his 338 for pretty cheap and he had done some upgrades.
The 338 is a blast to shoot.
