Ramblings on ballistic app

For what it's worth if your app wants DA (Density Altitude) and you don't have a Kestral or other instrument that calculates it, take the time to research the theory behind it. It is not a term commonly used outside of aviation so the numbers are not something that are familiar. For instance my altitude is 635ft right now but the DA is 1590 ft. In the summer it can be on the order of 3300 ft.
Yes sir i came to that conclusion last nite. While I do have the WeatherFlow meter which links to both GeoB (and Hornady i just learned) I did some searchin and found a online calculator that seems to agree with my WeatherFlow meter.

My WeatherFlow only really works when linked to a ballistics app as the WFlow app just for it sucks..it dont connect so i got rid of it after 2 days.
The calculator will help so i can run new loads im testing in different apps without changing my hunting app. (It auto applies new atmospheric readings to all profiles)

I like GeoB a lot, its worked well. Its switching between the T/P/RH and DA tabs thats got me. U can switch and manually enter temp, press, rh but no elevation. Or u can switch and enter DA but nothing else but the other inputs are still visible there, and at least right now seem unchanged even when I use take a Weathermeter reading.
On urs if ur on T/P/RH tab and take a reading does it also change ur DA #?
On mine right now i can switch back n forth between tabs without changing any inputs and get two diff dope charts.
It won't read DA when onT/P/RH. The field is there but it's obviously muted. When choosing DA the other fields are visible but muted as well. Just toggle back and forth.
I'm a DA guy as I can get close enough for a shooting solution in North Idaho/eastern Washington most days without the meter if I've been keeping track. It's something I practice.
It's always the wind that makes me second guess.

It is an interesting app. It requires a lot of inputs. I'm betting that there is a lot to be gained using it. That it doesn't yet align with GeoB is on my end.

I know it is unavailable for download at present, but I would like to put my 2 bits worth in for Strelok Pro. I use it for my Win Mod 70 .300 WSM 180 gr HH @ 3030 fps to my RAW 1000X Airgun shooting, .22 16.1 gr JTS pellets @ 970 fps. Both with results that amaze me for the accuracy. The maximum distance I can verify is 500 meters for the rifle and 100 yds for the Airgun, due to range limitations. Strelok even has specs and GA ballistics of many different brands of pellets. It's a shame that it has been banned because of Putin's brutality.
