Pray for people's safety in Florida

its an unreliable source and the numbers are not correct. That is a 2 year expenditure. FEMA spends about 2 percent of its budget this year on non citizen services which are broad in scope. It's a complicated problem but without migrant workers, farming , construction, the service industries , restaurant industry don't function. My cousin owns part of a large feedlot in central Nebraska and he said they tried to not hire migrants but gave up as couldn't find workers. I know a Florida tomato farmer who is full on maga but he says that there are no white people who are any use to him . There isn't an easy fix to immigration as a lot of competing interests. There is an enormous misinformation campaign on what we do for illegals and sadly a lot of fertile minds that believe it all.

So as a country, fema has spent about 1.50 for every citizen in 2 years.

I can find quite a few Bible verses about how you treat aliens.

Whatever your persuasion, hopefully people know their sources bias.

Consumption of information requires some intelligence. That isn't something most have. Govt is inefficient , a lot is due to crony capitalism which sucks far more of the public dollar then pbs, immigrants or children's school meals. When you have emergency agencies, military, hospitals etc… you either fund for the worst or you are lean but will get burned sometimes. Usually we are in the middle somewhere . I know Tucker, and Alex and the entertainment side of Fox won't tell you the truth (and the left has there equivalents, just less mainstream). I suggest you research a story from multiple sources and look at the fact checking sites like snopes, politifact etc… and if you find a site lies to you, you move on and find ones that are factual. There are sources with left , right or center ist views , some on the ends are low quality and other are high. The news went to hell when 24 hour news and news as a profit center came to the scene. You have to lead with titillating titles and make filler , Cronkite has been replaced by hannity and Maddou. Most have a lean, Fox will lead with stories of migrant crime or a cold day in July which may be true but has the purpose of painting an incomplete picture. MSNBC will lead with a story about a purported Trump crime. I would say that only a few news sources have been successfully sued for misinformation and that is pretty obvious why. The country needs a population that has a basic grasp on reality and you have to have a core set of facts that you can't discount without evidence.
For 200,00 years man made little progress and then the scientific method came about. The progress is breathtaking. climate change is real and made this event more likely although can never tell on a single event, trump lost in 2020, vaccines work , and my 1000.00 to the Red Cross did more than all the prayers told to the 1000s of gods since the dawn of humanity. Anyone is welcome to their beliefs but thoughts and prayers don't replace action.
It's a horrific situation. My former business partner retired to Asheville and has relayed just how bad it is.

From my experience if you are going to wait on the state or feds to help you you're going to be sol. The minute the water receded we were gutting our house. We were fortunate to have flood ins. Most in NC do not. So at best the people here in 2016 who did not have flood ins could get 36k max from fema and then they would give you an sba loan with a bunch of strings attached. Either way those folks are going to be in a bind.

What is solution? You can have private insurance or a large socialist system. Ultimately rates are based on actuarial likelihood of a loss. There are places where people live that aren't good bets. Flood insurance should be cheap in a place that it is unlikely to flood. I have it on my house but if I ever flood, we've had a 1/10,000 year event so it wasn't expensive.
We are the federal govt . Any govt insurance plan will require taxes and a federal beauracracy. Private insurance may be unaffordable or unattainable for some.
It's very complex problem and any one with an easy solution is stupid or lying.
I have never had any need for disaster relief so no personal experience. My farmer cousins have collected many millions on federally subsidized crop protection programs and that has worked out very well for them. It's not the same as replacing a house in 3 feet of floodwater but there is no great quick fix for that.

You missed the point. That point is people down here did not just sit on their hands and wait on the feds. When we flooded the minute the water went down we were cleaning and gutting our homes. Any help you get from fema will be well after the fact. If you have insurance their is a process for that. But if you do not have flood insurance like many of the people in NC then you are going to be on your own anyway. They will offer you a small direct payment and maybe an sba loan with a lot of strings attached. The feds and our state had a road home program set up after the fact but it took months to jump through all the hoops only to be told your 150k plus loss was only 60k and they would give you only a small portion of that.

As many of us have noted, this is a prayer thread. Stop trolling if you are not the praying type because no one cares about your stance. Yes, it does require some intelligence, so let's see some of yours and leave this thread alone. You have no clue what @Victor3Ranger1 is going through. If you do, you are not part of the solution.

Brother Kelly, I can only imagine what you and your family are going through. The LRH community and I will continue to pray for strength and good news. God bless!
Agreed! It is time to activate the ignore mode.

The great, effectual power of prayer. Merely one example from the Word of God:

Daniel 6 [a]It pleased Darius to appoint 120 satraps to rule throughout the kingdom, 2 with three administrators over them, one of whom was Daniel. The satraps were made accountable to them so that the king might not suffer loss. 3 Now Daniel so distinguished himself among the administrators and the satraps by his exceptional qualities that the king planned to set him over the whole kingdom. 4 At this, the administrators and the satraps tried to find grounds for charges against Daniel in his conduct of government affairs, but they were unable to do so. They could find no corruption in him, because he was trustworthy and neither corrupt nor negligent. 5 Finally these men said, "We will never find any basis for charges against this man Daniel unless it has something to do with the law of his God."

6 So these administrators and satraps went as a group to the king and said: "May King Darius live forever! 7 The royal administrators, prefects, satraps, advisers and governors have all agreed that the king should issue an edict and enforce the decree that anyone who prays to any god or human being during the next thirty days, except to you, Your Majesty, shall be thrown into the lions' den. 8 Now, Your Majesty, issue the decree and put it in writing so that it cannot be altered—in accordance with the law of the Medes and Persians, which cannot be repealed." 9 So King Darius put the decree in writing.

10 Now when Daniel learned that the decree had been published, he went home to his upstairs room where the windows opened toward Jerusalem. Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his God, just as he had done before. 11 Then these men went as a group and found Daniel praying and asking God for help. 12 So they went to the king and spoke to him about his royal decree: "Did you not publish a decree that during the next thirty days anyone who prays to any god or human being except to you, Your Majesty, would be thrown into the lions' den?"

The king answered, "The decree stands—in accordance with the law of the Medes and Persians, which cannot be repealed."

13 Then they said to the king, "Daniel, who is one of the exiles from Judah, pays no attention to you, Your Majesty, or to the decree you put in writing. He still prays three times a day." 14 When the king heard this, he was greatly distressed; he was determined to rescue Daniel and made every effort until sundown to save him.

15 Then the men went as a group to King Darius and said to him, "Remember, Your Majesty, that according to the law of the Medes and Persians no decree or edict that the king issues can be changed."

16 So the king gave the order, and they brought Daniel and threw him into the lions' den. The king said to Daniel, "May your God, whom you serve continually, rescue you!"

17 A stone was brought and placed over the mouth of the den, and the king sealed it with his own signet ring and with the rings of his nobles, so that Daniel's situation might not be changed. 18 Then the king returned to his palace and spent the night without eating and without any entertainment being brought to him. And he could not sleep.

19 At the first light of dawn, the king got up and hurried to the lions' den. 20 When he came near the den, he called to Daniel in an anguished voice, "Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you serve continually, been able to rescue you from the lions?"

21 Daniel answered, "May the king live forever! 22 My God sent his angel, and he shut the mouths of the lions. They have not hurt me, because I was found innocent in his sight. Nor have I ever done any wrong before you, Your Majesty."

23 The king was overjoyed and gave orders to lift Daniel out of the den. And when Daniel was lifted from the den, no wound was found on him, because he had trusted in his God.

24 At the king's command, the men who had falsely accused Daniel were brought in and thrown into the lions' den, along with their wives and children. And before they reached the floor of the den, the lions overpowered them and crushed all their bones.

25 Then King Darius wrote to all the nations and peoples of every language in all the earth:

"May you prosper greatly!
26 "I issue a decree that in every part of my kingdom people must fear and reverence the God of Daniel.
"For he is the living God
and he endures forever;
his kingdom will not be destroyed,
his dominion will never end.
27 He rescues and he saves;
he performs signs and wonders
in the heavens and on the earth.
He has rescued Daniel
from the power of the lions."
28 So Daniel prospered during the reign of Darius and the reign of Cyrus[b] the Persian.
