Today, I took the muzzleloader to the range to confirm zero. I also planned to shoot it at some reasonable distance just to see how it held up accuracy wise.
The muzzleloader is the Remington 700 UML.
Last year I used the ML to kill three deer in four days. All short range shots of 30 to 60 yards.
After confirming zero at 100 yards (it was still on from last year), I went to 300, 450, the. 500 yards. What a blast! First round impact at 500 was rewarding, to say the least.
Photo of last years zero. Today, I put two bullets in the same spot (didn't take a photo of the target).
Gun now wears a Leupold VX5HD 3x-15x-44 Wind Plex reticle (photo has a Sightron S-Tac 3x-16x-42 - excellent scope btw).
I shoot a healthy dose of BH209. Todays velocity was lower than last years (never got a decent number of shot chrono'd on the old Chrony). Garmin Zero has todays MV running right at 2050 FPS.
