Not really sure if he had a particular bullet in mind but the previous owner that had that done was shooting the 175gr Hornady- 168gr Berger VLD Hunting and 160gr Accubonds. Have the targets that he had shot and as you would expect it shot pretty well.
I can answer that as I'm the one who had it done (previous owner). When I got it, the rifle had no throat. It was rifled all the way to the case neck area. Bullets had to be seated way down in the case. I sent my smith some Nosler 160 Accubonds for throating purposes but those were more or less to make sure he cut enough throat in it.
