Shooting setup

You might want to look into Wiser Quick-Stixs link above. It would make your rest a little sturdier.
That pic is about two weeks old, I now use quick-stix for the third leg of the tripod but actually the bungee/zip tie setup for the main two legs. I only use 1 trekking pole when hiking. The bungee/zip tie allows me to get a little bit more height for the "V-point" when standing. Just a personal preference. One thing I do with the quick-stix is to remove the stop screws so I have an unlimited range of angles.

This set up is plenty sturdy for me here is a sub moa group shot at 300 yards in a 10-12 mph FV wind. Not anything compared to Len's 1000 yard group but not bad either.
