RL16 tends to work quite well in the same cartridges as H4350.
I use it in 30-06 and 300 WSM. Lots of folks using it in other cartridges too.
Yes, do not be afraid to experiment with other powders as long as you practice safety.
This is not always the case. I have three .300 WMs with different powder/bullet combination hand loads.
Those are RCBS Powder manual throws are for ballparkmeasurments, but not perfect, you could use it for throwing your powder and then use a balance scale for fine tuning each Powder throw, a pain in the ***, but is very accurate
Ramshot Big Game or Hunter is looking good. Looks like it meters well.

What would be the effect, ie grouping / speed between 4350 and IMR 4350 at 100 yards in cold temperatures with same caliber, bullet and load etc?

H 4350 and IMR 4350 are both excellent powders but as with all stick powders they will meter about the same through your powder measure. Setting it to throw a little below your charge weight and use a trickler to get your correct weight exact. You could go to a ball powder such as W 748, W 760, or some of the Hodgdon powders mentioned. H 380 or H 414 meters very well and might work for you.

If you work up a load with IMR 4350 at 60 degrees and shoot the same load at 20 degrees at 100 yards I am guessing that you would lose about 20-30 fps and wouldn't notice a difference in groups. The farther you reach out you'll definitely hit lower because of the slower velocity.
I used IMR 4350 in my 7-08 for years and at my normal whitetail hunting ranges of under 200 I have never noticed a difference in all temperatures.

Hunter is great in the 6.5 CM with heavier bullets. Big game works well with the lighter bullets. And yea they meter well
Using stick powders in a thrower will always cause Kernel's of powder to stick.
But 4350 and 4831powders are one of my favorite powders. Very versatile from 6.5 creed to 300 magnum. I use ball powders for my practice loads for plinking and save the more temp stable and expensive 4350 powders for my hunting loads. Hunter and big game powders is mostly what I use for practice.
I just find that you can run into big variance in pressure due to heat or cold using them. And the double based powders won't have as long a shelf life
I think it's because of the nitroglycerin

I use IMR 4350 in my RCBS powder dispenser and scale combo ! Many years now ! I remove the little silver tray Gently shake it to even out the powder. Then replace it on to the scale to confirm the weight . If it's the same both time. I pour the powder into the case ! No problem. Feeding the powder from the scale to the. Pan ! The issue is when i replace the empty pan the scale often drifts off zero by a tenth some time two tenths !! Then I have to re Zero the empty. Pan to start the dispensing of the powder ! IMR. 4350 Great powder my RCBS 1500. ,not so great

H 4350 meters better than IMR. That being said I run Redding measures and they are very consistent with anything. I run the measure pretty hard and it works well. My son can't bring himself to smack them around and his charges vary quite a bit. I tell him, wear it out and just buy another.
