RL16 tends to work quite well in the same cartridges as H4350.I have plenty of RL16.
Running low on H4350, thinking about getting an 8 pound jug of something.
I usually load 9.3x74R, 7x65R but mostly just 6.5CM and 300H&H. H4350 works in the last few.
Tried to find a powder that works on all four cartridges if possible. I have looked through Lyman Reloading and not finding. Please know that I am relativity new in reloading.
Hey BillI am using an RCBS Powder measure. When using the H4350 it seems to get stuck, resistant is it having to cut through long grain powders. I am concerned that the amounts might change.
I am about out of H4350 and are thinking about trying the IMR 4350. Would it work smoother? Is there much difference between h4350 and imr4350?
Yes, do not be afraid to experiment with other powders as long as you practice safety.Looks like the best idea is to buy several different powders.
This is not always the case. I have three .300 WMs with different powder/bullet combination hand loads. One for each caliber.
What would be the effect, ie grouping / speed between 4350 and IMR 4350 at 100 yards in cold temperatures with same caliber, bullet and load etc?Hunter works well in the 6.5 CM with 140's and is close in burn rate to H4350/IMR but not as temperature stable as H4350 if that matters to you.
If you work up a load with IMR 4350 at 60 degrees and shoot the same load at 20 degrees at 100 yards I am guessing that you would lose about 20-30 fps and wouldn't notice a difference in groups. The farther you reach out you'll definitely hit lower because of the slower velocity. What would be the effect, ie grouping / speed between 4350 and IMR 4350 at 100 yards in cold temperatures with same caliber, bullet and load etc?
Hunter is great in the 6.5 CM with heavier bullets. Big game works well with the lighter bullets. And yea they meter wellRamshot Big Game or Hunter is looking good. Looks like it meters well.
