I mean, they are just politicians. He's never used a rifle a day in his life. He has others sign off on mandatory training. That's how the military is.

The scope backwards is the equivalency of the fully semi automatic rifle…a depiction of ridiculousness, but, the fact that the fore grip is that far in, and his elbow is up like he's learned from watching Vietnam era marksmanship, while also not using a sling that is common with this technique, and letting half the stock ride off his shoulder is in self a reflection of the general navy.

That's the embarrassment.

Like I'm left wondering if a gunnersmate handed him a rifle like that, and he was too stupid to correct it, or he pulled rank, and did what he wanted…

Either way this actually happened awhile ago. Weird that's it's come back again.

What BS. It was probably done for satire. Perhaps he was proving a point ? Where ridicule should be there is none. I would not be surprised to find some political affiliation had some bearing on the decision to remove him. I would like to know if he's a competent commander to begin with ? We goofed off like this in the Army. The only diff is we didn't have social media to exploit everything. It's been a long while since I served. But I find it hard to believe that during his whole career someone was always signing off on his proficiency test.

It's not goofing. It's people try to look cool, and end up looking retarded. This happened months ago.

I'd be more concerned about the one setting up the illegal WI-FI on a warship before a ******* shooting a backwards scope
it's the Navy's official media/camera crew.
It's not a personal leaked photo. Just as this is me, and I didn't personally take this photo. Combat camera did for that exercise. I just requested to get the photos on CD at the time before heading out.

Thank you for your service, we need more to follow in your footsteps.

Tough spot, on one hand the proper desire to support those who serve. On the other a profound and observable decline in military brass competency since 1945.

Now we have near peers and a ruling class he'll bent on a fight... and what appears to be a void of competency above colonel.

Begrudgingly developed a disdain of what it all has become, while still maintaining support for the average kid signing up for the right reasons.

Guess the scope being backward is about the least of what I expect.

Unfortunately it's not satire.
Why the Navy would put out a picture with a rifle is strange anyway. A very small percentage actually shoot any firearms after boot camp. I work with a former Navy man and they barely ever got to shoot rifle or pistol. He doesn't like when I harass him about that but I am allowed.😉
If you want to impress, I would be taking pictures shooting missles or the big 10" (or however big they are) guns on that ship.

So they get no small arms training in boot camp ?
