I saw a thread in the last couple of months that had some discussion of Reloader 26 and 100 grain bullets in the 243 Win. I have looked and looked and cannot find it, I know I'm old and technologically challenged, but the thread got me thinking of how much more I could do with my 243 and heavier pills. The velocities folks said they were getting was impressive, not hitting pressure until 46 grains of powder or more. I bought a few 100 to 103 grainers and the first one I tried Fed 210M cratered at 43 grains. No heavy bolt lift, I only shot one, didn't have my chrono set up, just starting out looking for near max load, and I think I may have found it right away lol. Cleaned the rifle, and getting ready to load another at 43 grains in a few different bullets. Wondering if anyone has had success with RL 26 and 100 grain bullets in the 243. The higher BC's, and velocities folks said they were getting really changed the little round compared to what I've been shooting. Over 1000 foot pounds of energy past 650 yards. I've never shot at anything except coyotes past 300 with the 85 grain bullets I shoot, so I was definitely interested. Looked like a big step up from the 22-250 for coyotes waaaay out there. My rifle is a Rem 700, heavy 26" barrel, 9 twist, so I should be able to get some 100 grain bullet to shoot good enough for that. Any info would be appreciated.
