300 Norma Mag barrel extremely hot

Just try a can of the compressed gas "compressed air" used to clean keyboards electronics. Upside down it will release sub zero gas.

Was trying to make it simple with a normal nozzle head just for him to try out. Personally, anything but ambient air blower I would be concerned about condensation and blowing a primer. Nice thing with the various refrigerants is they are super dry agents.

I have never seen any condensation inside or outside of the barrel. I suppose other parts of the country with higher humidity might have an issue.

The barrel is not chilled but brought down to ambient temperature which takes 15-20 seconds.

Yeh try summers in Houston area even Virginia can get quite humid. You wakeup and your home windows are completely covered from the AC being on. To be clear I have not personally had the issue as I have never done more than ambient air fan. It was more a thought of what might happen.

I spent about 2.5 hours today shooting 40 rounds, shooting four rounds then letting cool with my blower and moist towels for 10 minutes or so between rounds. Did 9 sets of 4 rounds from about 30 thousands off the lands to 6 thousands into the lands. The rounds most in the lands were about perfect. Just under .2 MOA.
Here's a pic.
The SD's were pretty solid too at 4.1 with the 2.880 seating depth. Small sample at only 4 shots. So certainly higher with more rounds.
I noticed one interesting thing. The last two sets of rounds were "In the lands" and the average speed was 2940 or so compared to about 2933 when off the lands. Is this typical? I've never loaded in the lands before.
Thanks for the moist towel advice. Used it on the suppressor too…
Now I'll load up 100 rounds and start banging (Hopefully) the mile target this next weekend.
