The .20 practical is just the .223 necked down to .204 right? No changes to neck length or shoulder angle or other fiddling around, just resize it and load?

Do you have to neck turn?

I SOOOO wish the 204 Ruger was a 20P, but noooo, let's use brass from an obsolete cartridge instead of brass based on the current NATO round. But they had to hit 4000 fps. The 20P will only do 3950.....People who already had 223 bushing dies, could have given it a jump start.

20 practical will do more than 3950 I have 2 and my hunting partner has 1 and they all run over 4200 fps
With a 32gr? I have not looked at either cartridge in 8 years or so. Looks like speeds are up for the 204 as well. 4200 for 32gr. See, now I gotta fire up QL. I had a Savage 204 with a 1-11 twist, it was not accurate, unless it was with 32gr or less, and even then it was mediocre. Maybe a 20P is in my future...

Yes 32 gr vmax we use them for praire dogs we shot over 8000 rds in June love them

Welp, got blood on it. Have ~150 rounds down the tube. Final load is N133 and 40 grain Vmax @3750. Still tweaking. I hate the folding stock for pdawgin. I have parts coming to put an A2 stock on.
No neck turning but I do bump the shoulder a bit. I could skip this step but I like to minimize stretch. I have a Redding set of shell holders made just for bump, so it's pretty easy once I found the correct size. Also bought a Brass Goat case catcher. Am in the process of modding that as it is longer than I like and is inconvenient.
Also changed the scope and mount to a Meopta 3-18X50, and new rings.

Case forming is easy. And I have gallons of brass.

Yes. No neck turn involved here. I also trim to 223 length. In a nutshell: Remove seater ball from 223 die. Run brass in , Next Redding 223 bushing die w/204 expander ball, .233 bushing. Final: Redding bushing die with .225 bushing. Trim to 223 length.
