Cot for end of the road camping

Looking for a comfy cot, in a rather large size for end of road camping. Being as we don't really have a camping section on this forum I put it in this section. Hope the world can forgive me for that...

Any thoughts on a magnum sized cot? Weight not a big issue as it goes right from the truck to the tent.

I have the ALPS outdoorz XL Camping Cot which is 86"x40". ALPS stuff is usually sourced overseas, but this one has done the trick no problem. I put my Canvas Cutter directly on it to make getting in and out of it easier and cleaner. Its been solid and pretty easy to set up.

yep, same... ALPS outdoorz XL Camping Cot w/ an Alps Outdoors 3" foam/air pad. Perfect combo for cot sleeping.

I think any robust cot with dimensions and weight to your standards will work. The key to good sleep is the sleeping pad that goes on top of said cot.

That being said, I've used the usgi cots and they work…once you muscle it together. I also have some cabelas cots that have a bigger footprint but are way easier to assemble than an usgi cot.

Got a quick deploy one from sportsmans. Don't remember the brand but it's been awesome. I'll have the wife text me a Pic of the brand. Did almost a month last year in it.

I will second Fireflys use of Cabelas cots, I have three and they have done a great job for 10 years. Get a good pad/mattress and you are ready to go.

I hadn't seen either of these units, but a review of each online is impressive. I'd imagine your sleeping like a king. So good in fact it would be tough to get your *** up in the early morn.

I broke a side rail on my Tetongear XXL outfitter cot. Called them to get a replacement. The owner answered the phone.....took my order.....and wouldn't take any money. I told him it was all my fault, and not a product defect. He still wouldn't take my money.

That's good old fashioned American customer service.

x3 ... I spent a week on one in Utah "end of road camping" and other than the obvious downside of sleeping on a cot when the temperatures drop, I slept better than at home (granted, no one was punching me when I snored lol).

Best sleep I ever had was on the REI Kingdom cot. Very well built and durable. Never had one break on me. Not sure the size is big enough for your needs, but they are on sale right now for $139 - down from the $200 normal price.

Camptime makes great cots. I have two of them. My inflatable pad slips into them like a sleeve and stays put. They pack down relatively small. And best of all, made in the US. And there's various sizes.

I'm 6'4" and never slept well on cots until this combination. Cabelas XL and a XL Nemo Roamer. Super comfortable and toasty warm in the cold. The pad is thicker than most keeps your hips higher off the Cot. Much more comfortable.
