10MM Reloading Questions

I never had any issues when loading for my 10mm Glocks when following load manuals or manufacturer websites (like Hodgdon website).

There is a reason that manuals are noted as just guidelines. My suggestion to the OP is to call Hornady and discuss what's going on with his Glock. I'm pretty sure they'll say reduce the powder charge.

Dropped it to 12 grains. Ran a clip through it this am, everything cycled great. Brass looked good.
Your glock takes clips?

Sorry- had to, it's a pet peeve of mine

Glocks don't have fully supported barrels, this can cause "guppy belly" or "glock belly" of brass at higher loads-- one reason I don't use pick up/range brass for my semi autos is you never know how they were loaded--- lee makes a push through die set up to "fix" the guppy belly BUT it may still cause weak spots in the brass. Always work up loads when shooting fo the "upper end"

I run 14.2gr of no 9 with 180 xtp's for a speed of almost 1400fps but I have a fully supported barrel and a heavier slide/recoil spring

I run a lower charge for my 180 gr plated "plinking bullets"-- I only run them at about 1200fps

IIRC, this is also one of the reasons they do not recommend hand loads; perhaps someone can validate. For this reason, I have not reloaded my G40 yet. I have, however, purchased an aftermarket barrel already.

Sorry, the pictures are not as clear.
I am going to Glockmeister today to pick up the same barrel. I think I am going to go with a new 22# spring as well. I am wanting to shoot the 200gr class bullets out of it.

Bought a G20 awhile back. This is the only pistol I have loaded for, so I am somewhat ignorant to pistol reloading. I loaded up about 30, 180gr HP's with 13.2gr Accurate#9. I have virgin SIG brass and magnum pistol primers. They cycled awesome. No stamps or other signs of pressure.I went up to 13.5gr and the gun jammed a couple times, and split two pieces of brass. Blew the primer out of another. Just comparing to what I read online, I didn't think the load would be that hot. Also, should I be sizing the Virgin brass? I am just using a strait seat die with no crimp. The gun is for protection, so I don't plan on re using brass at all. That gun slings them lol, and trying to find them is not worth my time. Don't plan on shooting it that much either.
Number 1 check your powder scale and make sure it's accurate if you are getting high pressure from a manual loading. Number 2 take a hard look at "Blue Dot" It's all I use for my 180gr loads, in my G20SF with a heavier 22 lbs recoil spring.
Good luck Cheers.
