Would this be enough tripod to shoot a 14lb 300winmag off of ?
Yes, it's rated for up to 44lbs. It's really stout for a sub 5 pound tripod. Here's a link to some more information. The model I have is not the X Version, it has standard leg locks. The X version has spring loaded leg locks. On the x version you can accidentally adjust the legs. Not good for shooting or glassing.
