07/25/24: I am offering a very special and gorgeous custom built .270AI. This rifle comes from my very close friend and hunting partners' estate collection of very fine firearms.
This beautiful rifle was built by Cline Custom Guns of San Antonio, TX in 1984 at a cost of $2,400.00 and change. Built on a Remington 700 action, it sports a heavy 24" free float Krieger 1:8.7 twist barrel. It is stamped "270 Win Special". To Be Clear…It is a 40 degree shoulder .270 Ackley Improved.
It has a very crisp 1-1/2 lb. target trigger, a super grade… meticulously crafted and exquisitely checkered Tiger grain glass bedded English walnut Monte Carlo stock and a Leupold long action scope base. Rifle weighs in around 10lbs. The tuned action and lock-up is as smooth as glass.
NOTE: There does exist, some minor safe scuffs on the stock but no scarring what-so-ever. Absolutely rust free, bluing is 100%. The bore is impeccable.
Stored unfired for more than 30 years in a humidity contolled safe, I did shoot this sub-moa rifle off the bench many years ago. I know it to be impressively accurate out to 400 yards. (That was the max distance of the range). If I had to guess round count, I'd say under 60 through the tube in it's lifetime. My buddy rarely took this rifle into the field…but when he did, it always struck gold.
I don't hand load so I have no interest in the rifle. It should go to someone who appreciates fine American craftsmanship and accuracy by precision. All it needs is a nice scope, a regular trip to the range, maybe a kill every once in awhile and the oooh's and ahhhh's it deserves.
$1,650.00 - shipped USPS insured TYD if you live in TEXAS or to your FFL if out of state, however, they MUST accept a private party shipment.
Best to call or text me @ (512) 667-eight 2 three 3. If you PM me, I can't guarantee a quick reply. I'm located near Bulverde, N. of San Antonio.
Happy to send more pics upon request.
Best regards and good shooting,
Dane
