6.5 100gr ElD-VT bullet length

I see the the g7 is .226. Can someone tell me the bullet length? I don't see it anywhere on Hornady's site.

Still can't find it.

I called Hornady about the 6.5mm 100 gr. ELD-VT and asked what twist was required they told me 1:8", I said it would be nice if they put that in the specs of the bullet. He agreed and made it sound as if those decisions were above him.

I did not ask the length and from what I understand since it has a large void between the tip and the core normal stability calculators don't model it with precision but can come close.

I don't know if this helps with what you were looking for, you maybe looking at oal length can't help you there.

I asked for both but they only told me the recommended twist.

Isn't it wonderful that in this day and age of information knowledge that it's so **** hard to get any.

They are selling a product. You would think that they would give you all the information they can.

Hey I've got an idea how about everyone on the forum call Hornady and inundate them with questions on several different bullets and at the end of the call everyone tell them to put that information on the specs of the bullets

Once I find the length of bullets I email JBM for them to add to their listing of bullet lengths.

I'm excited to try the Hornady bullet in my 1:8 twist 6.5 SAUM. I'd like to shoot it in conjunction with the Apex Outdoors 102 gr Afterburner. The afterburner is 1.289 inches long, requires a 1:8 twist, and has G7 = 0.239. That's pretty close to the 100 gr ELD-VT. One should be able to get the two bullets to shoot very similarly with regards to drop and drift.

The Hornady would be for target shooting, practice and varmints. It's way cheaper.

Then use the Apex bullets for big game.

Both would be point and shoot loads out to 500 yards max. They should make 3400 fps easily and maybe up to 3600.
