Defiance Deviant Ultralight Hunter LA, AG Composites stock, perfectly bedded receiver, media blasted barrel and receiver, nitride bolt assembly, CNC PTG machined BDL style BM, Wyatts follower, Timney CE trigger 2lbs, 24" 1-8 Ace Barrels #3 w/ 9/16-24" threaded end. As a hand loader, the right powder will get you comparable velocity in a 24" barrel that you might find your gonna get in a 26" barrel particularly in a 280AI cartridge… Accuracy certainly isn't gonna be any better. So I'm curious as to the purpose of your comment…

If if had a 26 in barrel I'd probably buy wad purpose of comment most rifles need a 26 in to get full potential out of a rifle especially slower burning powders even a 25 06 needs a 26 in barrel to reach full potential however its to each person's idea and use for a particular caliber I just prefer 26 in on my rifles
 
I have a nice new build 257 Weatherby then if your in need of a 26" long barrel rifle…its on a fully tweeked 700 receiver. Cannot necessarily disagree with your assessment for some rifles/calibers…have a good one
