Wyoming Elk Unit 61 Type 7

I drew for 61 type 7 this year. Super excited. Killed my first cow (and elk) same unit and tag in 2021. Went with a guide but would like to do it myself this year. I know there's a lot of private land in this unit. Any pro tips for success to do this solo?

Hopefully you learned your way around from the guide. Check out the Hunter Management Areas on the WY fish & game website. You can download permission slips for private land.

I'm from Cody, The G&F is wanting to harvest lots of elk on that hunt. Call the Cody Regional Office and get the contact info for the Meeteetse Game Warden. Give him a call and you'll get lots of help.

I was drawn for the same zone this year, my friend and I are planning on hunting later October with an outfitter. This is our first elk hunt and would appreciate any advice that would be helpful. Thank you
