Advice needed for new Xbolt glass

I have a new Xbolt stalker spr on the way in 300 win mag and would like some recommendations on a scope. I will be primarily deer hunting with it but would like something capable of long range shots at the range. The scope i have my eye on is the Nightforce SHV 5x20x56, but would like to hear of other good options.

Welcome to the forum! Lots of options in that price range. It may help if you could convey why your considering the SHV over offerings by Trijicon, US Optics, and others in that range. Is it reputation, reticle options, weight, etc..?

Ive hunted with that model before on a friends rifle and was impressed with it. Ive done some research on it and see they have great reviews and are well known for durability.
That is the only scope ive handled in that price range. Outside of that, ive used lower end nikons/vortex scopes.
Id be open to other brands/models under $1500

Do you have anywhere near you that has a large selection of scopes that you could go look through them in person? While I know it's not like hunting conditions, you can better see alot of the differences between brands, especially if you're like me and don't have enough experience to know what to look for and how to see it.

The shv is not a bad scope for the money . I have the ffp and the sfp 5x25x56. Each has its purpose. There are plenty of good options in that price range . Trijicon and others listed . Definitely take a look thru them and make a decision.

Thats a good idea, Ill have to call around and see what the local stores have in stock. Thanks for your input

As stated above, I would definitely look at the Trijicons... Ten Mile to be more precise.

That is a good deal, i was going to keep an eye on the classifieds but im tempted to snag one at that price
