Alliant Powders suspends sales of reloading powders

The Clintons started this during their reign of terror. Remember that they are the ones who started the love affair with China, gave them the plans to the F15 and others, vilified American manufacturing and poo poo'd them as dirty industries that were beneath the status of the USA. Behind this is a dedicated effort to destroy America from within. They have plastered regulation after regulation across the whole of the commercial business landscape of the country. Turbocharging the deficit, inflation, immigration - none of these are 'bugs'. These are all 'features' of the Leftist Administration. I could go way on - but won't - we all know the drill. Just remember that these problems are NOT failures of the system - they are deliberate and all part of the grand strategy. Something tells me that this is about to change....
Lest we forget look at the history of the world!! Can you say siege heil in Chinese?

Nitrocellulose is used to make primers, brass, bullets, hamburgers, Teslas, cereal topping to keep Biden's brain going, and TP during COVID.

It's the #1 ingredient in crude oil.

I've also heard it cures cancer so they're stock piling for massive cures.

The military now fills all tires with it.

So you see, there's not enough for the average reloader.
Oh boy. If it cures cancer it will disappear forever now! they can't be havin that loss of income

I guess this was bogus…..16 types available at Drifter's Gear (legit) less than 2 mo later???

I warned they were trying to drive up prices. Now there is more available than there has been fo 4 years.

Often, I am stunned at how many people do not understand this and in numerous items. The US has outsourced so much manufacturing to China and elsewhere, we will see shortages in most everything. Imagine WWII type of rationing and shortages in today's US.

I fear that rationing will be worse than WWII!

During the Depression, my dad told me they sold 22 Rim fire by each bullet and 12 ga were 5 Cents each.

No, they are gone! Whatever is on the shelves is what it is. Once the supply the components supply houses have is depleted, that's it. Better start looking at Accurate and Hodgden as well as Shooters World.
Sure. It's weird that they have more than they've ever had in the last five years but OK.

Military contracts. The US is replenishing all the the munitions that have been going to Ukraine and Israel, plus tooling up for coming conflicts. They know Sh+t is about to start. Lake City has a tough time keeping up with all that stuff being fired in training as well as the hot fighting. Same reason lapua has stopped making brass for hunting use. Make 7.62x51 and .223 as fast as possible.

I talked to an engineer at Federal right after the announcement and he indicated they were stopping sales of powder to the reloading market because they were concerned about having enough powder to keep their own production lines going. He said procuring components is their number one concern.

He said the demand for ammo is higher than they can produce and the bottleneck is powder. He said the US has one nitrocellulose plant and he can't understand why we don't build a couple more as a matter of national defense.

I have enough stock to carry hunting loads for my expected hunting life. But recreational long range shooting is going to be a memory. Taking the family out plinking will be off the shelf small bore/rimfire. I hate what this shortage is going to do to custom builders and factory offerings if loaded ammo also becomes tight. Sad.
I have enough for me but the family can have what's left when I drop.

My buddy who sells powder says Shooters World is hard to get now also plus price up significantly.

Lots of PRS guys moving the VihtaVouri with the Hodgdon price increases.
