This is whats wrong with hunting today

You said you understand the humor with which my comment was intended, fair enough, and thanks for receiving it as intended.

But then you pin the words "hate" and "anger" on me, as if you know what is in my heart. You're off the mark there.
I'm sorry you feel attacked. Not my aim.
I think your opening post on this thread set the mark for yourself. I cannot speculate what's in a man's heart but your post pretty much puts it out there saying that we are all the problem. We can agree to disagree sir.

Again, back on track......

Like what you want. Build what you want and be happy. Just provide info accurately and without biased that's the point. Plainly, I think there's just too much of this clouding long range hunting. In an age where all you need to do is turn on the TV and you're a long range hunter, I'm just trying to have a discussion about trying to keep it as pure as possible.

The video may be cringy, but what you said is objectively false. The diameter and weight of a bullet has literally nothing whatsoever to do with wind drift. Most 7 mags don't have the twist rate to shoot a comparable BC bullet as the 22 creed normally does and it shoots those heavier ones slower than the 22 creed shoots it's heavy for caliber, so objectively, the 22 creed, using optimum bullets will always have less wind drift than a 7 mag.
Time of flight. It's the only variable you can control in the wind drift equation.

A 300gr 375 bullet also deflects to the point that you'd not expect an impact much past the brush it hit. Nothing is a brush gun. Nothing is accurate after glancing basically anything. This has been proven time and time again. 750gr from a 50bmg tumbles after it hits a twig.
That's why I like the 7STW 😁

I like chicken ! I like guns also . I am a 22 centerfire maniac . Built a 222 magnum AI on a contender carbine , love my Ruger no 1 220 swift , my 22 Nosler AR with a 24" barrel flat out shoots . I also know that my 338 Allen Express knocks the gongs off of the support chains the 22's just swing them a little . It is fun to watch them move in the scope then hear the ting . The 338 crushes them . This might just add to the page count for your pleaser !

You didn't read what I wrote, or what I was quoting. 22CM saami spec will always have less drift than 7RM saami because a 7RM cannot stabilize a high BC 284 bullet. No one in F class is running 7RM in 9+ twist barrel. I doubt anyone is running 7RM at all.
So we are limiting this discussion to saami spec? I know most guys here don't care about saami spec. And I know browning and seekins sell 8 twist 7 mags. But then lets talk 7 prc. If I can launch a 180 berger versus a 85 gr at an elk. I know what I'm picking. As do most hunters. Bullet construction being the same a higher bc bullet with more mass and energy on target wins.

You've created a completely different argument than I was replying to. An actual straw man.
The claim was a 22cm would wind drift more because it's 22 cal. It's objectively, demonstrably false. Caliber and weight have nothing whatsoever to do with wind drift.

The point is and was that a 7mm will have a higher bc and thus have less drift. AND will do so with twice the mass and more energy. All important to a hunter.

A 284 bullet from a standard 7rm will have a lower bc and lower muzzle velocity than a 22cm. And will always have more wind drift.
