Picked up a short action Aero Solus over the holidays and I'm not particularly a chassis fan but more of a traditional hunting stock guy. Want to make sure Im not overlooking my options. I know it's a supposed Remington footprint, but what stocks have you actually used with good fit and success ?
Thanks all

Manners inlets for Aero, I ordered a PH with the Proof Sendero Lite contour for a stubby build

I also think MPI will inlet for the Aero, but a 15-18oz stock on that pig would be ridiculous.

Edit, I tried it in two different stocks, the hanger area would need to be relieved to seat.

I also bought a barreled action 6.5 PRC, since i had a Grayboe Renegade laying around i decided to mod it to fit but i got fraustrated and took it to my smith, however so far as i know, the following stock makers make regular (not chassis) stock with inlet for the Solus action.
-Grayboe
-AG composite
-Manners
Please post what you end up with.

I'm following this. My barrel (26", 1" Varmint contour, 6 twist, chambered 8.6 BLK) is not here yet and the Solus action is waiting patiently. I got a heads up from Preferred Barrel Blanks that it's "nearing completion" on 9/6. It'll be interesting to see how a short action .338 does :)

:/ Grayboe won't accommodate the 1" Varmint contour.

I really like the two Boyd's stocks I have. One is on a Rem 783 (.308) and one will be on a Ruger American Varmint in .300 BLK (new 5 twist barrel).

I ended up with a Grayboe Terrain and love the stock. Heavy sporter barrel on the Aero and there's plenty of room for a heavy contour if I wanted to move up.

Grayboe Terrain
I'm looking for something with adjustable length of pull and a adjustable cheek piece. It doesn't matter, Grayboe says:

"Fits all barrels up to and including the Proof Research Sendero contour"

My Proof barrel is a 1" Varmint and I think that's a bit heavier than the Sendero contour.

I have Renegade (Grayboe) that my Smith worked on to accomodate the Solus action with a 6.5 PRC fluted heavy barrel.
I am going to sell it as i bought a Chassis for it.
The Grayboe Renegade can be ordered with the Solus cut but mine was a regular Remy 700 cut.

I ended up with an Oryx

I love it. Put the shouldered prefit barrel in a vice (I use one from SAC), I used nickel anti seize on the threads, screw the action on, insert the Solus action rod, tighten to 80 ftlb, check with go/no go, drop in the trigger, drop the assy into the chassis, tighten two screws, done.

The barrel I selected came from Preferred Barrel Blanks. All in all I don't think I spent more than 20 minutes assembling the rifle. The action is smooth. The one thing that I overlooked was magazines. It doesn't stop me from shooting it but it's a little tedious single shot loading. Mags are on the way. The Oryx chassis doesn't use AR mags.
