Anyone have any experience with the new Ti3 action? I am considering building my son a Ti3 in 223 AI as a volume shooter and a second barrel in a larger cartridge and caliber for hunting. Wanting to keep the build light so he can get used to shooting light builds and suppressed. Build I am thinking
Ti3 Short action
223 AI 20 inch PBB steel barrel
LRH or XLR for a stock
TT Diamond
Future barrel will be a carbon in 25SST-6 Sherman short- something in that realm.

Any thoughts on the Ti3 I would love to hear before dropping $1800 for this action.

How much weight are you really saving with the titanium action? Check a Kelbys naanook too. I have a zermatt origin with a carbon barrel, Leupold vx5hd 3-15x44, mesa carbon stock. It's under 10lbs with a lane half titanium/stainless can. It's only a 22-243 and it's on the lighter end to shoot good long range. I also have a 7mag in a Remington action with a heavy spotter barrel it's about the same just under 10lbs and that gun is even harder to shoot I think. It shoots good just takes really good shooting form to keep them tight. Your son will end up with a great gun. What are you looking at for a scope?

i've been wanting to do a 338lm 7.5-8# build, because i just want something lite w/optic. ran into many issues as most optics i wanted weighed 2#+ getting into 9-10# complete. going no shorter than 28". regardless of cost the weight wasn't possible. the xlr magnesium 4.0 would be a good choice in my book! just remember the advertised weight is for the chassis only as the grip and stock chosen will add weight.

I have been using a Ti3 since April 2024. I also own the TL-2 and a few TL-3's.
I have used this action for my NRL Hunter Build. No issue with this action at all. Not quite as glassy smooth out of the box as my TL-3's, but has broke in nicely and absolutely would not hesitate to buy another.

I would imagine it is good but why not go with Lone Peak Arms? I have built several rifle configurations with their actions two different Titanium and 5 steel. We interchange bolts and barrels from .223-.308-magnum. Love my Sherman short mags in 6.5 and 7mm. Same price point and great company to work with. Also no reason to build a long range rifle lighter than 8.5-9lbs including scope. Just build a 20lb PRS gun and shoot with that for a bit then your 9 lb Hunter will feel like a feather. 🤷🏻‍♂️😁

Yes I have one and really like it! I run two different hunting cartridges, 30/28 Nosler and a 7PRC. I built this rifle around this action to create a lighter hunting rig. Manners, carbon fiber stock, VorteX Razor LHT 4.5x22, Henderson precision Arca rail, Proof 24" and 26" barrels. The 30/28 is the long barrel and a 5 port Pierce precision Ti brake. The 24" is suppressed, So that adds a little weight. Plus a Bix'n Andy trigger. The rifle comes in at 9lbs without the suppressor. I have had the setup for a few years and love it! I also have the steel version and the weight difference is noticeable even though the numbers aren't that big. I think it has more to do with balance. I've always been a fan of their control round feed for hunting. I like dropping the brass at my feet and not flinging into the next county. Yes you pay a premium but for me it was worth it. Hope this helps in your decision process.

I ran a XLR atom magnesium with the TL3 SA for awhile, weight wise, the chassis is tough to beat plus it comes with a built in arca rail for tripod or bipod attachment. I have no experience with the titanium TL3. Your son is a lucky kid! Either way, I'm sure he'll enjoy the rifle.
