I have both. I think the Leica glass is much better, the turrets are a wash.
I've never used the Amplus, but I have a Leica Magnus and its far and away the best scope I've ever owned. Glass beats out tangent theta, turrets are a little less positive than the TT but otherwise great and track perfectly, and I have no reason to doubt its durability. This is all to say that I think the Amplus is a great buy because I have had great experiences with Leica, and I would bet that the Amplus is going to blow the trijicon out of the water optically.
All that said, I have always had great experiences with trijicon and I like them much better than vortex scopes that cost more, and if durability and a lifetime of service were my primary concerns, I would get the trijicon.
Because I think both scopes would serve you well, I would just get the one with features that correspond to the scope's intended use. Is this for whitetail hunting where every minute of daylight matters? Is it going on a backcountry or sheep gun where weight is a huge factor? Is it going to take a beating? Do you dial the turrets frequently? The SFP Tenmile is a bit heavier. You can get an FFP tenmile in your price range (the 3-18x44) which weighs the same as the Amplus, and has the benefit of being FFP. The tenmile will certainly be reliable and track consistently because it is a trijicon. The Amplus will have better glass and give you better lowlight performance.

Great feedback, which scope did you end up buying? I have both, and I'm trying to decide which to keep, I'm leaning towards the Amplus 6
I don't know anything about Trijicon, but I sure like the Leica.

I have Leica amplus 6 on my 280 ai, it's my favorite scope.
Everything about it is very good.
The reticle suits my needs for long range hunting, I would prefer just one horizontal line with one MOA wind holds like a wind plex. But, at 400 yards all the busy stuff in the reticle is below the belly of most animals so it's not an issue.
The glass is great, the turret is very tactile, the size is nice, all the dials are fairly easy to turn (not too easy but. not too stiff), I can't think of anything I don't like. For my type of hunting and having 18x on the top end, I prefer the current reticle over a standard duplex simply because I like to hold for wind. Just my observations and preferences.

you cant go wrong with either one.Just make sure of the reticle you want....
I just received my Amplus 6 and after receiving it I sold my Credo HX. I was not a fan of the reticle on the Credo and to me the Leica glass is far superior. The scope overall is fantastic. I hope it is durable as I plan on taking it on a CO Mule Deer hunt this fall.
Why weren't you a fan of the Credo? Too thin? I was thinking about trying one of these. Or a tenmile
Yes reticle was too thin/faint for my eyes. The scope seemed to be very well made, I just could not comfortable with the reticle especially in comparison to the Leica which to me was also a big jump in clarity/resolution.

Why don't you tell us what pushed you in that direction? I have the Same Vx6 with varmint reticle. I like it a lot - it's not quite the piece my Swaro Z8s - but still really good. Thanks for letting us know!
