I'm not taking any sides here, but I highly doubt his whole point of starting this thread was to troll the entire website... I know people do that sort of thing, but that would be beyond ridiculous. We rarely have any of that activity here.

But you say that never happened before, I beg to differ... We've had people start 7mmRM vs. 300WM threads for years that ****-near started a civil war amongst the members here. And some folks still are butthurt and hate my guts for my opinions because of those threads. Some topics are just more interesting and inclusive than others... Safety is something everyone practices, therefore everyone is going to have an opinion of their way being right. Facts are facts.

Almost doesn't cut it with someone's life I've chambered many rounds within a few yards of deer and coyotes and not spooked them so can't see taking a chance myself.

Unbelievably dangerous practice !
A younger guy I knew used to do that. I told him not to and how dangerous it was. He shined me on and continued to do it. Then one time he was sliding his shotgun into the gun boat that he had his 338 in. Him and his brother were deer and duck hunting and setting Martin traps on the northeast end of Baranof Is.
He was standing up in the foredeck of his brothers Whaler. Had the muzzle of the rifle resting on the deck, inside the ( gun boat) . Somehow he tapped the rear of the fireing assembly with the muzzle of the shotgun . And KABOOM.
 
Unless actively hunting, no round chambeed. Once a shot is possible/likely (and while stalking game), chambered safety on. So sitting and waiting on some groundhogs, not until we're going to shoot.
 
Good luck guys. I am covered as I already stated. Loaded gun? Not hunting with me unless we are getting ready to pull the trigger on an animal.
 
Lawyer-proof CYA... Just like why firearms manufacturers still have to have warning labels on stuff NOT to point the gun at someone, and keep the muzzle in a safe direction... That's pretty much common sense, but people spill hot coffee on themselves because they ordered HOT coffee, and then McDonalds gets sued, and loses, because the lady was an idiot.

So there is no risk of a primer discharging during the process of seating it? The primer manufactures just thought they would throw that warning out there even though there is really no actual risk of a primer going off from the pressure of an anvil seating it? Don't be stupid.

I personally think the poll is pretty interesting - way more people use B than what i thought...and you should watch that facebook video if you haven't already. Its a game changer.

Never said that... You asked why the warning label was there...I'm explaining why people have to have warning labels when playing with HAZMAT items... It's the same reason why coffee houses have to put warning labels on their coffee cups about the contents being hot. Because people are stupid...
