I've been thinking about this for a while...I've looked around trying to find somebody building a chasis from carbon fiber and best I can tell they're all aluminum, and you can find carbon fiber attachments all over the place, but the actual chasis itself is always aluminum. My work with carbon fiber is very limited, I was an engine mechanic on helicopters and used to go hang out with the airframe guys and try to learn all I could, so lots of watching, a little bit of hands on. That said, I've spent probably 2 years researching carbon fiber for a different project I had in mind. I cannot vomit out specs and statistics, but I can say I have pretty good reason to believe it would be possible to build a rifle chasis using carbon fiber instead of aluminum. Who out there knows more about this than me and chime in with yay or nay?
And why would you want to? Well.....Why is the sky blue? Why do we spend $1000 "fixing" a gun that shot sub MOA out of the box? Why do folks buy a Ferrari when a Focus will get you there? Why do women like candles? Cuz that's just the way it is! Or maybe could be?

If I found the correct thing that looks more like what I've always considered a bedding block. Though I suppose the two might technically be the same thing perhaps. I more had in mind something like the XLR chassis.

LRI has a very light weight carbon stock/chassis but it is very pricey ($2500). It's hard to justify as it is doable to get much more affordable ones that are fully adjustable around 3 lbs.

KRG had the HABU chassis for awhile but Im not sure if they still make it. I think it was a combination of titanium and CF if I remember correctly. Very pricey though.
