That would not be good on there part if thats the case. WOuld turn a Guy off those bullets quick. Lets hope thats not the case.

The picture is from Berger that I pulled off another site . Thats all I know. Could not tell you anymore then that. If I learn more I will post up.

I'm going to agree with this.

Per Chase Stroud (Applied Ballistics shooter on FB), the G7 BCs are .479 and .507, for the 379 and 407, respectively.

If Berger is consistent, these bullets will reliably expand. Because their hunting VLDs don't.

Tee hee hee... Good one!

This is the culmination of over 2 years R&D, testing and competing. We thought we had it so many times but solid bullets presented some interesting obstacles. It was a challenge to create a design that reliably provides: high performance, consistency, and precision all at once but I can say with pride this design delivers on all fronts.

Our first victory with very early prototypes of this design was Mitchell Fitzpatrick winning the King of 2 Miles in 2016. Then we learned about all the flaws in that version! We didn't want to offer something to the market that was half baked, so we spent another 2 years in development until finally arriving at the current configuration with which Christopher Palka won the 2018 Worlds Longest Shot Challenge, and Chase Stroud placed 2nd in the NRA National Championships (among other feats including his 2400+ cold bore impact with this bullet).

Performance, as measured by Doppler radar is:
.375 cal 379 gr: G7 BC = 0.479, G1 BC = 0.944
.375 cal 407 gr: G7 BC = 0.507, G1 BC = 1.000

Of course the Doppler radar measured Custom Drag Models (CDM's) are available in the Applied Ballistics software for these bullets as well.

Recommended twist is 1:7" for both. 1:8" works in most cases, but nothing slower than 1:8" is advised.

These two configurations are final. Although the exact timeline for availability is not yet known, we can at least say the R&D phase is finished for these two bullets and availability is now a matter of production, logistics, etc.

In past years, ELR shooting has struggled with a 'niche' status, not well supported by a great selection of highly refined products*. We hope these bullet offerings can add to the bedrock that's building beneath the growing sport of ELR shooting so that more shooters can be happy with their investments, and this leading edge discipline can enjoy further growth.

*This is not a slight to the dedicated companies who've been supporting ELR in recent years, only to say that Berger is proud to offer our contribution now as well.

They look identical to the Jim Boatright projectiles posted up on the Hide a while ago. But until you get your hands and mic one you don't know for sure. Even if they are identical, I'm pretty sure he was putting his design info out on the web for public consumption.

The good news is that we all know it will take Berger another 5-6 years to get the bullets released. You guys can just take back your idea and release it before they can release your idea. LOL

My way of thinking is this:
Why go public with something that may be giving you an edge in competition? Unless you think that because you are winning with it most competitors (and yes the wannabes like myself) would flock to it like every other piece of equipment. I just happen to not flock to something because everyone else has it, as in fads. Actually makes me not want something. Like the 6.5 Creedmoor; I almost pulled the trigger on one a month back (pun intended) but just couldn't bring myself to do it no matter how decent a mid range hunting / target round it is...they would win if I did.
They (Berger) should do something new and unlike any other company. For suggestions see posts 5 & 7.

I guess this is their way to appease the 375 crowd even if it's not what was wanted. Seeing as CEB has had that covered for the last few years.

I must be ignorant but I just don't see why they couldn't just scale up a 300gr .338 to 375. Sounds straight forward enough.
