VX5-HD Firedot 4 compared to German #4 (L3)

Hey guys, long time lurker, 1st time posting. I currently have a brand new Schmidt Bender 2.5-10x56 with the illuminated L3 reticle. Took it out the box, mounted it, shot a few times and realized I want a little more zoom. So I'm looking at the VX5-HD 3-15x56 with the firedot 4 reticle. The extra little bit of zoom would be nice and the reticle looks very similiar to my L3 (at least the picture does). From what I have read, there isn't that much difference to justify about $1k more for the VX6, thus the VX5 will work just fine. So my question is is the Firedot 4 similiar to the L3 or German #4? Thanks.
