Does anyone have any real world load data they can share with me for this combo? Looking for a place to start. Looking to be in the 3050 area. This is a long throated custom rifle. Tired of the RL33 cleaning and carbon issue.

Thanks,

Bill

I am 75.4 gr of Retumbo and get right about 3000 at .020 off the lands. I get pressure signs if i get above 3000 or so, and a summer day seems to push me up there. I was actually thinking of seeing how RL33 works after hunting season is over.

Edit - Nosler brass, CCI magnum primers, 26" Barrel.

Thanks for the info guys. I just loaded up some to try here soon from 75-79 in .4 increments. Will see how that looks and maybe go higher.

Schlock what brass are you using? I have Bertram I think is how it's spelled.

I am using Nosler brass. I do have a very faint ejector mark but my bolt still lifts easy. I think you will better off with Bertram. I am wait for it to come back in stock. I want to give it a try.

If I had some I would try it - I have wondered the same thing.

I have 8 lbs of RL33 so that is what I will try. Am also curious about IMR 8133 but not going to buy it to try given I have RL33.

So I was able todo a little shooting this weekend. Loads used F215M's, Bertram brass and Retumbo. I didn't get any pressure signs at all. Thinking I maybe able to go up to 83?!? All tho the last 4 shots had maybe inch and half of vertical at 600yds. So either way I'm thinking I have a winner around the 81grn area.

How cold was it when tested those loads?

Between 48-55 I think. Seems a little slow doesn't it?

I don't know if that's too slow... speed matters, but I don't Chase any more. I burned up a a fine shooting 300 RUM barrel in 700 rounds trying too many bullets and powders. Just curious about temperature. I've read about folks having problems with Retumbo when it gets really cold.

Yeah these barrels are good for about 800 rounds. I'm just not a fan of the RL33 and having to clean it every 20shots. I've not heard that about the temps but my typical Hunting temp for that gun would be in the 25-70 degree range.
