Athlon scopes??

I am looking at purchasing one of the Athlon scopes. Would like to know if they are repeatable on their zero,and if they track true.seems to be a decent scope for a cheap price..just dont seem to be enough info.on these ALL INFORMATION WOULD BE APPRECIATED.....

So far I've been pretty happy with this one. It's tracked well with the square test. I have it on a Howa 6.5 Grendel that I will use on pdogs.

What models are you considering?

I have a Midas TAC and it tracks perfectly. Have shot with it out to 1150y.

I have several Cronus models. The earlier reticule is a little busy. The new ones a reticule is great. Glass clarity is on par with my Schmidt and Benders. Zero stop is great on elevation. I dont like the windage stop set up as much, but, the wind doesn't always go right to left. On my custom 6.5 Creedmore I have several one hole groups at 100, 1/4" @ 200, but at 300 it really comes into it's own. Most groups are at 1/2" none larger than 1/2". I dont have a range nearby (that I am a member of) to stretch the legs on the set up.

I've bought two and I will definitely buy more.

Son in law has one on a 6.5 Creedmoor. We were shooting the Friday after Thanksgiving and he said he could not tell the differencs between his high end Vortex and his new Athlon.

My Argos BTR 8-34 x 50 tracks perfectly. Tall target test was right on, mils to 1 mile are close. It holds up to 300 Norma recoil fine. Downside is clarity, maybe higher end models have better glass. I swapped out to a Vortex Razor HD at a much higher price. Argos is worth it's price though.

On Thanksgiving I went out coyote hunting in which I got skunked. However as most coyote hunters do I was on high ground with plenty of real estate to shoot. So I lined up for a 1500yd shot. Completely ridiculous yardage. But when I was looking for a good backstop I saw a power line approx 1 mile away and I am going to be completely honest. The power line was crystal clear, I was blown away! The eye relief was a lil tight but with that AR platform. The recoil was zero stop there wasn't a need to get too far off the scope. And the answer is no! I didn't hit my 1500 yd target. But in my defense. My best shot was at 580 yds in the past. So adding another 1k yards without a moa calculator. Im satisfied. I will drill the target 1 day.. God Bless and enjoy that athlon scope. It will be the best bang for your buck.
A little side note. I almost bought a vortex PST off a guy that was selling it to buy the athlon and changed my heart. The price was right so I went with the athlon Btr.

Athlon Ares BTR 4.5X27 on my AR adorned with an 18" WOA .223 wylder bbl. The scope tracks very precisely to 800 yds which is the extent of the distance I have currently. Clarity is generally better than anything I've used in its price range.
I'm currently building a 7mm Practical bolt rifle and I have decided to purchase an Athlon Cronus for this project.

Sir..you will not be disappointed. I have three Cronus. I have several Schmidt's, high end Zeiss models, Swarovski and the ever present Nightforce brand. Pound for pound they are hard to beat. If you want some unsolicited advice...buy the model with the APLR reticule. Those are not a busy. The Nightforce reticule is better. But not for $1000 more when clarity and options are the same.

I appreciate the recommendation and I will definitely give the APLR reticule consideration. Given all the feedback available from rangefinders and ballistic calculators I too find overly cluttered reticules unnecessary if not down right bothersome.

The Cronus model is a step above their other offerings. I have a Cronus and an Ares, and the Cronus is a significantly better scope. The Ares is still decent and probably still a good value, but I think the Cronus offers the best value of any scope out there that I have looked through or used.

I have shot over a Cronus..I liked it...do not like it as well as a DMR...but very, very good. Glass was clear, adjustments positive..maybe a tad mushy, but for the price and features--a good buy...

I too am looking at the Ares BTR 4.5-27 in MOA. Half a pound lighter than my Razor HD with more magnification. Hope the glass is good and the adjustments are repeatable. That or the Midas TAC, but I think I'd prefer the Ares.

Going from a razor to an Ares is definitely a step down in glass, I'd look at the Cronus instead. Still save some weight and more comparable glass.
