Christensen Rifle....#2?

OR, like dougduey said, take it to, a good Gunsmith to be re-reamed and polished,
that would be,.. the quickest way, IMO
Don't get your hope's up for, a refund but,.. they will FIX it !
Having sent MANY Firearms back to their "makers" NONE ever refunded $$'s to any of my Customers. They were fixed or even totally replaced but, never refunded and the Factories rarely admitted,.. to any,.. "problem" !

Thanks for all the info and advice. I spoke with a gentleman on Monday and expressed my concerns and frustration. I made it clear I wasn't sending the rifle back for repair. I would be sending it back for a refund. He said no problem at all and they will do that. That their number one goal is "to have a happy customer, whether or not we have their rifle or not." He needed me to call back on Wednesday to get things worked out with their "supervisor." Also, I should not have to take this rifle to another gun smith to get it fixed correctly. I didn't pay to have 2 inoperable rifles sent to me, just to spend another few hundred dollars to get them fixed. Also, I live a 140 miles away from the place I've purchased the 28 and 300 from. I've had to make a total of four round trips back and forth. I would need to make another one if I had to send this back and wait for a return. I Have a lot of wasted money into getting things straightened out. I'm positive I'll be getting a full refund from them. One way or another. It's OK for me to be out money, but it's not OK for them to be out money on a rifle that's been registered to somebody else that they can't sell? It's only the action. The rest of the rifle can be put back together for somebody else. I understand both sides, and what you're saying. But this is going back for sure and I'm out.

And maybe this whole thing has been blowen out of proportion and it's gonna be as simple as sending them a gun, and they send me a check.

@ shooters,.. Congrats, on the REFUND ! First Arms company I ever heard of that, would do that ! All, the Rem's, Browning's, Winchesters, Ruger's that, I sent back to the Factory for repairs, were "fixed" ! Even if, "blown up" they would just,.. replace it !
Times change, I guess ! Glad they did that, for you !

Great.....

I just had a buddy buy two CA Ridgelines....in 28 Nosler and .300RUM! And he wants me to work up loads for him.....
Well ****, I just bought a CA Mesa that I'll be doing load development for next week. Its in 300wm though, hopefully they got it right.

So I finished the .300RUM load development. It shot great. .4s pushing a 215 Hybrid near 3100fps.

His 28 Nosler is showing promise too. 184 Hybrid F-open @ 3240 before I hit pressure. Great accuracy in several.loads between 3150-3220.

After reading all the bad reports on here how much longer will they stay in business. I have seen many CA rifles on line and in shops in the used department wondering how many have issues. It is sad they don't have any care about what they are putting out the door.
I purchased a Mesa long range in 28 nosler last Christmas I had read some of the problems with the ridgeline and the carbon fiber barrels and I couldn't get behind the idea of hunting with a carbon fiber barrel and possibly dropping it on a rock or smacking it on a tree but I can say not all CA rifles are bad I love mine it is super accurate with reioads and factory ammo no problems here

I would use a tool and find out really how far to the lands it is with the rifle and bullet. Sounds like they really gave it a short throat. Also, check the bolt head and clean and lubricate the lugs and the the action. Some have shorter throats then others but this sounds too short.

Pretty sure nobody is reading the thread before posting. I DO NOT have the rifle anymore. Christensen Arms stuck to their word and gave me a full refund for the gun purchased, no questions asked. They came across this entire time with pretty good customer service. While I did have to get on the horn a few times and it was a long slow process, it did get handled without any arguments or blaming anyone. They were disappointed that 2 rifles left their shop in that condition and hope to resolve any future issues with quality control ...but it's in the past. I'm out and moved on.
