    Vortex viper hs opinions

Not to Hijack the thread in anyway, but I am wondering if the vortex viper line is a good comparison to the nikon monarchs? I have only just started looking at the vortex brand because I received a pair of vortex diamondback binoculars for Christmas and they appear to be better glass than the...

    Remington 700 quality

It doesn't matter what well established company it is, whether it makes tractors or makes firearms, when they say new and improved about a product. It actually means new and improved profits for the company.

    Free Floating BDL wood stock

Been thinking about free floating my 300RUM Remington BDL. Watched MidwayUSA videos on free floating, pillar and glass bedding. To me how he free floated the barrel and using the barrel bedding tool, is a relatively easy process. I could be wrong and please inform me if I am. Also what size of...

    Swift Scirocco II

I use this bullet in my 300 RUM. At first I was shooting 102 grains of Retumbo at 3550 fps. It shot very well, but since it was only a BDL it was very light and the recoil was a little much. I slowed it down to 96 grains and am now shooting at 3300 still shooting MOA and its a nice round for...

    Savage 22-250 groups?

Another item that you could do is purchase a Limbsaver Harmonics device that slides over the barrels. I put one on my 300RUM that was shooting 1.5 MOA and took it to .75 MOA at 100 yards. It is interesting to see what it does to the best loads you choose.

    300 RUM Loads

So the 300 RUM BDL I own has been giving me headaches, literally, for the past two years. I have a mercury stick in the wood stock and a kick-eez pad on the rear and it still likes to come back and bite me. Been looking at holland muzzle breaks but i don't need to lose anymore hearing. Right now...

Nikon is now offering Ballistic Match Technology Turrets

When the scopes come out of the factory, are the cross hairs in the center of the scope. Like in a scope with 30 MOA total adjustment, is it at 15 MOA? Or does it start at the bottom of the scale?

Nikon is now offering Ballistic Match Technology Turrets

Bman, I am looking on putting a 5 x 20 x 50 mm on a target rifle of mine. I have a question for you. Why does the interior MOA adjustment lessen in these higher magnification scopes? I am kind of concerned of running out of adjustment after I zero the rifle.

Nikon is now offering Ballistic Match Technology Turrets

If you get on Nikons Website and look up the scope that you have and go the Specifications. You will see a Manual icon, click on that and it gives you everything you need to know about your scope. It also includes how to replaces the turrets in one section...

    Mercury reducers affecting accuracy

I have a RUM 300 Remington BDL with a wood stock with a Barnes mounts and rings with a Nikon Monarch 4x16 x 50. When I first got it, it kicked like a mule, always coming back to touch me on my head. So we put a Kick-Ez recoil pad and a mercury reducer in the stock. The recoil has reduced...

    Recoil Management

So I have a 300 Rum in a Remington BDL with a wood stock. The thing always came back and nailed me in the face with the scope every time I shot. So i put a kick-eez recoil pad on it and that helped the problem but still it always came back to get me. So I put a mercury stick in the stock. As far...

Fitting The Long Range Rifle By Shawn Carlock

I have a 300RUM that the scope will always comeback and buck me right above the eye. I have a 50 mm scope so I have to use high mounts on it. Due to the hight mounts I have to position my cheek higher on the stock and not where I usually would put it. Is an improper cheek weld the cause the of...
