Man, I haven’t checked this in a long time, looks like there has been some traffic. I ended up going with a redding type S full length bushing die and it worked great. Just tried to over complicate things a couple years ago when I started the project.

How were the velocities last night?

First 5 shot group at 100 yards after barrel break in.

I ordered the barrel from McGowen and didn’t get specific with them. I shouldn’t have assumed they’d know I intended to shoot 90 VLD’s

I’m still waiting on the 22 Grendel barrel to come in. PF does great work but the one off jobs take a while. It’s like buying a suppressor. The 22 Creed is a tack driver for sure but wasn’t throated long enough not to jam the 90’s that I wanted to shoot up into the lands so 75 eld-m it is.

Would you recommend the 190gr Nosler accubond LR over the 200gr ELD-X? It wouldn’t require giving up any velocity or BC.

If they had bonded them would they expand as well at much slower velocities?

As others have mentioned, velocity plays a big roll in ELD-X bullet performance. Running the 200 gr at 2840 I find my 200 yard and in kills to be quite destructive. I’m a fan of TBAC as well. I’d definitely go with the ultra 9 over the 7 for magnums though.
