Thanks for all the input....I think I'm just gonna go ahead and pull the trigger on this rifle.Im not overly concerned about recoil,I plan to tame it down with a good brake,the NIB scope that currently have waiting for a home is a hefty 23 ounces,loaded mag,sling et al should come in around...

I already have a never mounted/BNIB PST 4-16x50 FFP,EBR1 MRAD that I bought for another project and never used.Its 23 ounces,so should help add a bit of heft and get me up around that 8lb mark all in? I'm just not certain if I want a turret style scope on what will essentially be an all around...

Ok,mostly interested in hearing the cons of buying/building a liteweight magnum for LRH? It seems the trend in LRP shooting is relatively heavy rifles and barrels,presumably not only for barrel cooling but also aiming stability and accuracy?? I'm looking at putting together an all around...

My $.02....SFP is more then adequate for hunting and most other applications. The way I look at is this....when I'm stillhunting/stalking,or even on stand,my scope is ALWAYS cranked down to lowest magnification.Obvious advantage of quick target acquisition for any close range shots that present...

First thing you'll need to do is draw a tag.NB doesn't have outfitter allocations for moose,non res hunters must compete in the lottery,then choose an outfitter if successful in the draw.......which raises question about this alleged outfitter that you spoke with claiming his guides have 2...
