    Slow proof prefit?

Do you think its better to buy a raw barrel and have a Smith chamber it or start with a prefit and clean it up?

    Hunting scope recommendations

Trijicon Tenmile® HX Long-Range. Light weight, great price, built in Japan, very shock proof, true tracker, great long range reticle.

    7mm PRC

Don't know if you have one but a little additional cleaning kit like the Tipton product is handy for that final fluid cleanup afterwards. I always swab out my chambers and around locking lugs JIC. https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1014897844?pid=109658

What rifles are you planning to use in the 23/24 deer seaon?

My wife and will be using my CCR custom 6.5 PRC. It's a Defiance Deviant Ultra Light XM action, a 27in Proof Sendero barrel, McMillan Game Hunter carbon fiber stock, a Timney 2-stage Calvin Elite trigger, and a VX6 4-24x52 scope. It's rang up 4 Coues bucks and 18 head of African game.

    375 Ruger Longest Range Load

I've shot the 260 and the Barnes 250 TTSX in my Ruger 375. Out of the 2 the Barnes shot better. I've shot it on steel to 400 yards. The newer Barnes 270gr LRX might do really well. Haven't tried them. They have a little better BC and should perform similar on game as the TTSX.

Can you trust advertised ballistics coefficients? Mostly...but not always...

Their BCs are calculated using their unique tools, barrels, meters, measure point, atmosphere etc. These all have their own built-in error/accuracy levels. Unless you were using the exact tools they were using to compute their BCs you will always be a little different. Because of this, the BC...

Neck Sizing Vs. Full Length Sizing and Neck Tension

One small fine point to remember is you need to punch out the spent primers of the cases you are using to set up your die for shoulder bumping. This will eliminate a slightly protruding primer from fouling up the measurements.

    Thoughts on a 27 prc

Should be a great wildcat to launch the Berger .270 170gr EOL. Effects on game of course will be about the same as a 7mm 175/180, but you'd have a unique cartridge. If that makes shooting fun for you, burn the Benjamins and get it. life's short. I went through my .270 phase with a .270 WSM...

    Some brass not bumping back

Usually a case once fired from virgin brass don't require annealing. But maybe those pieces are harder than the other pieces. Who knows? Are they not fitting in the rifle? Maybe go ahead and load and shoot the if they will run in the gun. Maybe that will straighten them out.

    Some brass not bumping back

Usually having the press go full cam over is where my cartridges end up getting them to bump, but annealing will help. Once a case has about 3 uses, they can work harden. Frankly I anneal every use anymore with the shortage of cases. I have a little Annealeez machine. It inexpensive and...

    6.5~7PRC ??

If you have a short action, you will have to single load because your OAL will never safely fit in a 2.995 mag. If you have a medium action, again you could single load rounds. Depending on your medium length mag you might be able to safely seat bullets that will snap in your mag but you're...

    Powder issues

It would be an interesting test to gather some velocity data at the higher and lower temps then compare the data. If the ES isn't really wild at normal hunting ranges ie. 0-300yards you would likely not notice and impact effects. I think most people that run into temp sensitivity issues are...

    Powder issues

I'll say H1000 as well. It's too bad IMR7977 isn't available any longer. I was also very temp insensitive and performs a lot like H1000. The other temp resistant powder similar to H1000 is Vihtavuori N565. It may be a little slower in muzzle velocity than H1000 but lots of people are using...

Once fired brass from different rifle

With the right dies you can for sure get those shot cases from another chamber to work. You can run into issues without the right dies. For example I have 2 7mm LRMs that cannot share brass. The chambers were cut by 2 different companies. LRM A will accept cases from both and LRM B will not...
