    Opinion on McMillan Stocks

D-man, Andy, I was only joking about the commission, I know Norman Clark is good and I intend to give him a 'phone. To answer Old Man's query, the Gunsmith in question was comparing the Mcmillan with either HS or Choate both of which he sells.

    Opinion on McMillan Stocks

Thanks for the replies guys. Dan, I totally agree with your sentiments. In a free society everyone is entitled to their own opinion and I respect that. What I don't respect is the rude and dismissive way I was treated by this particular'Smith. As D-Mon and Andy point out there is plenty more...

    Opinion on McMillan Stocks

Hi Redman I don't doubt your sentiments for a minute. I am more than pleased with the stock. It was purely the Gunsmiths attitude I was disapointed with but that won't stop me buying McMillan again. Their product and reputation more than outweighs one biased opinion. D-Mon He's based in...

    Opinion on McMillan Stocks

Thanks for the replies Folks. I bought the stock after seeing pictures of the old US Marines M40A1 type sniping rifle and don't regret my purchase one little bit. I was so taken back by this Gunsmiths attitude when I was actually speaking to him that it wasn't until after I had completed the...

    Ruger M77 - 1 in 9 Twist

I own a Ruger M77 HB(Tang Safety)in .22-250 calibre. I purchased it second hand and the serial number would suggest it was manufactured in the early 80's. The rifle has a 1 in 9 twist barrel as standard. Has anyone come across this before? I suspect it was a police sniper rifle before it came...

    Remington Sendero 25-06

Thanks I don't know if the retumbo is available in this country but I'll find out. The 10 fps spread must translate to one accurate load downrange. The H4831sc is available and that was the route I was thinking of going. Viht 140 is popular here for the lighter bullets and Viht 160 for the...

    Remington Sendero 25-06

Thanks for the advice Guys I'm going to take the plunge and buy it. I'm on a tight budget but I'll see what type of shooter I've got first but look at the custom barrel route when funds permit. A labradors born half trained, a spaniel dies half trained.

    Remington Sendero 25-06

Thanks for your help Scott. I like the rifle but what worried me was I read in some of the forums that Remington were using cheap barrels on their rifles. I don't know if it's true or not but it was enough to make me think twice.
