    What’s your spookiest hunting experience?

Lol! They often liked to chase me when I was fighting alligators. They always seemed to be in a bad mood!!

Stalking a human can be done as well. Patience is paramount...just not recommended to startle armed folks that way! Reactions can put holes in places they shouldn't be. 🙄

    Fiberglass inlet need sealing?

Quite a few years ago, my 722 bolt for my .222 rifle was stolen while I was traveling to a my new duty station. I contacted Remington and they fitted it with a new Model 700 bolt that works better than my old one ever did. The old one had been shot by a pro in competition back in the late '50's...

    Shooting after heart surgery

I split my sternum in a head-on collision in 2000...caused by the seatbelt...they didn't find it until 2 weeks later when I went to train some folks to scuba dive in a pool. I spent an hour or so at 12 ft teaching/reviewing underwater sign language, then, when I was leaving the pool, I couldn't...

    Preferred impact velocity?

Don't worry, the SR-71 was retired because they have a faster one. As a matter of fact, the SR-72 is so fast that it doesn't carry a human on-board so it can turn at its capability. It's basically a super fast RC aircraft.

    What’s your spookiest hunting experience?

My game warden knew my grandfather who was the local taxidermist. I was told it was amazing that I caught him and that they would keep me updated! 🙂 Lol! I am happy I didn't get the talon pressure at all. It was bad enough to see that huge beak just a few inches away from my face as I held the...

    What’s your spookiest hunting experience?

I know that I was a bit lucky on getting mine. He hopped out from under some grape vines along a stream bank as I walked by. I thought he was hurt...so, I had to help!🙂🙂 Sorry to hear yours gave you some issues! Hopefully you don't have any scars from the encounter! And sad he got so many...

    What’s your spookiest hunting experience?

That's awesome! Great pics too! I once picked up a Great Horned owl off of the ground and brought it home to my mother's house...I was about 16 I think. He was compliant for the most part...I let him sink his claws into my sweatshirt...after I took it off of course. Thought I was in the...

    Preferred impact velocity?

Might sound dumb but I have wanted to buy a 375 H&H for a while but can't find a dealer in my area in Florida who is even willing to order one. I quit asking about a year ago...any ideas where I should look? I probably can't swing a custom one right now but it may be possible to do in the future.

    Canned Deer

As a younger man in the military I had to give up a lot of hunting seasons but always looked forward to going out again. Then, as fate would have it, I was injured and medically retired from the military. I currently have over 1,100 pieces of titanium in my body and am in need of several...

    Preferred impact velocity?

Since the newer monos were introduced, I have been using the 168 gr and 180 gr 30 cal Barnes TTSX in two different caliber rifles. I push them fast and like impacts over 2,700 fps but understand that they will work slower than that if need be. I use high shoulder shots for whitetails and have...
