    #7 for 2010

Here are some pics of #7. Man, when I have a gut feeling I better go with it. Had a gut feeling about a place right around the corner from the house. Went in there and kicked up three at 80 yds. Couldn't get a shot till one stopped at 300 yds. Missed! Packed up and went right across the road...

    #6 for 2010

Dropped this male first thing this April 23rd at 175 yds. with Atchman as a witness. Went with a gut feeling that I had the whole night before. Boys , when I get a gut feeling I have to go with it. Missed his mate at a run. Just can't seem to get the knack of shooting them on the run. Owner...

    Another great weekend!

The camera is just a cheap Kodak 340C Easyshare. I use it so I won't beat up my SLR and it is a lot handier. I think it is 8 pixels. I am not sure. You should be able to get one of these real cheap on ebay or amazon. Also, I downloaded the Easyshare program and it really helps enhance your pics...

    Another great weekend!

Another great day of hunting. I want to personally thank Thomas Fields and Jake Willcut for inviting me to hunt with them today. We walked back in 1/2 mile for our first stand of the day and managed to call this male in on the five minute mark to a distance of 40 yds. Due to a "technicality" no...

    Three in one day!

OK, here are a few more details. I shot these coyotes with a 1965 Model 70 in a 243 using a 100 gr. bullet. I am getting ready to switch to a 70 gr. because I am on a mission to get a (60/40) black and white coyote that hangs around the back forty of my place. I want to get him mounted if I get...

    Three in one day!

Two weeks ago I was very fortunate to get three out of four coyotes in one day. I called the first double in early in the morning and dropped the first one but missed the second one on the run. Packed up and drove an hour to a new farm. Called the first one in on the three minute mark. I...

    243 Win. 85 gr. or 100 gr.

Funny that you should mention that. I used to have a Model 600 Mohawk in a .243 and it shot like a house on fire. Unfortunately I don't have it any more. Actually I had a Model 600 in a 308 and 350 Rem. Mag. They all shot great. Thanks for the info. I am in the process of trying some different...

    243 Win. 85 gr. or 100 gr.

Actually I am going to get both. I need shells and bullets. I had a coyote about run over me and he actually kicked dirt on me trying to get away. So I am going to get some SHELLS for my shotgun. Thanks for the correction. It has taken me a little time for my heart rate to come back down after...

When to use a howler on a electronic caller

Need a little help again. First off, now I'm hooked on hunting coyotes. Heard some yipping the other morning, ran over the ridge, started my "Quiver Critter" and busted a coyote as he came running out of the woods in LESS THAN 15 SECONDS from when I first started my electronic caller. Two more...

    243 Win. 85 gr. or 100 gr.

I need a little help here. I have a Model 70, 243 Win. w/4x-12x40 scope. I hunt whitetails and coyotes with it. Maximun distance on either one would be 400 yds and more than likely less than 300 yds. I am going to stick to the 85gr. or the 100 gr. at the present time just due to the...
