My concern would be around bullet alignment and blow by around the bullet. It can’t be good for the base of the bullet to exit the case mouth before the bullet starts engraving.
Not sure how that might affect accuracy and velocity, but I suspect it would.
The 168s are a sturdier bullet than the 165s. They also shoot better in my 30-06’s.
Like the OP, I’ve been running low since 2020. Nosler hasn’t made a run of these bullets for 4+ years.
Actually I haven’t heard, I know they are fine because I use a lead sled a lot. I only have wood stock guns.
The key is to weight them so that they still slide. I usually use about 6-8 lbs of lead with 243 class and around 10-12lbs with 30-06 class hunting rifles. Reduced recoil about 70%.
Me too actually. 130gr Interlocks out of my BAR at 2900 fps shoot sub 1/2 MOA and make for a great deer and especially hog load. The reduced recoil allows me to stay on target as I mag dump on all the hogs that scatter after the first one goes down.
