I, too, have had abysmal experience with Beretta's customer service regarding current Tikka firearms. Called two different times, hoping to get a different "tech", but it was the same "why are you bothering me" guy. Told me "that's just physics". Ah, no it isn't. I know exactly the issue...
Funny you said Carhartt. After realizing the cost would be unreasonable for one hunt, I decided to use my Carhartt brown bib overalls and coat. I have good boots, socks, undergarments. I will need to find a good pair of gloves.
Those overalls kept me warm in negative *F temps.
First elk hunt. Spent time as a youth going for whitetail and small game in the northeast. I have an old woodland camo coverall that still fits. Otherwise, I'd like to know what kind of camo may be used in northern NM during the end of November through beginning of December. I used ASAT when...

I guess I have to remeasure. Thank you for the information.
I wouldn't have considered a 450 BM, but they were practically giving away barrels at the CMP games. Last couple days were like a Sunday flea market; it's all gotta go.
16" length barrel. Intended for hunting in state that permits straight walled cartidges. Not very interested in a brake that creates a lot of concussion and flash. I was considering an drilled out A2 style muzzle device, and thought there might be something "better" out there.
I expect to...
I almost scored a Steyr Pro Hunter 7mm mag for 450, but it was scooped up before I could get to the store. I found a Tikka T3x in 30-06 instead. Trigger, ergonomics, accuracy are excellent. The one thing that wrecks it for me is that the rounds in the magazine when the bolt is closed suffer...
